Food Distribution Services

Helper Foundation recognizes the importance of addressing food insecurity within our communities. As part of our commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, we have established food distribution services in the communities of Venice and Mar Vista. In addition to distributing food, we provide essential personal protective equipment (PPE) items such as masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer to ensure the safety of community members. Furthermore, we offer assistance with essential household items and facilitate medicine pickups for senior citizens, ensuring that their basic needs are met during challenging times.

Helper Foundation and Otis College Partnership

Helper Foundation has established a partnership with Otis College, where our staff members serve as mentors to students enrolled in the Homeboy/Girl Histories course. This unique program explores political, ethnic, and social identities and how they are expressed through visual arts. Our mentors work closely with students and community members to cultivate and execute the vision of community through art, fostering creativity, self-expression, and community engagement.

Safe Passage Programs

Helper Foundation's Safe Passage Programs create safe routes for community members to travel through neighborhoods impacted by violence or other safety concerns. By partnering with local stakeholders, including law enforcement, schools, businesses, and community organizations, we establish safe corridors and provide escorts for individuals to travel safely to their destinations. Through these efforts, we promote community safety, reduce fear, and strengthen community bonds.

Mentoring Program

Our Mentoring Program pairs youth with caring adult mentors who provide guidance, support, and encouragement. Through one-on-one mentoring relationships, young people receive personalized attention and guidance as they navigate life's challenges and opportunities. Mentors serve as positive role models, helping youth build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their full potential.

Art and Education Program

Helper Foundation's Art and Education Program harnesses the power of creativity and learning to inspire positive change. Through art classes, workshops, and cultural enrichment activities, we provide opportunities for self-expression, personal growth, and community engagement. By fostering a love of learning and creativity, we empower individuals to explore their talents and pursue their aspirations.
